Description
The California poppy, Eschscholzia californica is often called golden poppy, California sunlight, cup of gold in the flowering plant family Papaveraceae and can be found in the United States and Mexico. It can be both a perennial or annual plant about 5 and up to 60inches tall. The flowers are a single bloom with four silky petals on a long stem. The blooms range in colors from yellow, orange and red. The petals close at night and open again the following morning and may remain closed in cloudy weather.
