Description
Dead Horse Point State Park is a state park of Utah with an overlook of the Colorado River and Canyonlands National Park. Legend notes the dead horse part of the name is from local cowboys herding wild horses over a narrow area of the top of the butte that is only 30 yards wide onto a mesa. They closed off this thin area with tall brush creating a pen. They planned to come back and get the horses they wanted but a blizzard hit early and all the horses died due to having no feed or water.
