Description
Some wild cloud shapes at sunset on Mono Lake.
Mono Lake is a large, shallow saline soda lake located in Mono County, California. It is estimated it was formed at least 760,000 years ago. Because there is no outlet there are high levels of salts which have accumulated in the lake. The high levels of salts make the lake water alkaline and causes the tall tufas to form. It is truly an otherwordly sight especially at sunset and sunrise.
