Description
The wing span on these owls is just incredible and their flight is nearly void of any sound. Awesome creatures.
The snowy owl is a large, white owl that are found Arctic regions in North America and Eurasia. The males at maturity are mostly all white with females have more areas of black. They are diurnal meaning they hunt during the day. The yellow eyes are also a sign that these birds hunt during the day. The darker colored eyes of owls indicate they are nocturnal hunters.

Thanks so much for all your comments. I hadn't been adding descriptions until lately and now get that it can almost be a mini-blog. Great to see that they are actually read!

Wes and Dotty, Fantastic capture of this owl in flight and as you said in your write up in your description box the wing span is truly incredible. The details in this photo are remarkable as I love the way you can see the owl's detailed face and the markings on his wings. Great job capturing all of these details. Excellent still photo of a moving object, great photo, FB and google promoted and voted and seen in the group, USA Artists News promo thread
