Description
The white-naped crane is one of the larger cranes in their species. It stands anywhere about 4 feet tall but only weighs about 12 lbs. They breed in Mongolia, China, and a lesser extent Russia. A program at Khingan Nature Reserve raises eggs that they share with zoos in theU.S. to help with the dwindling amounts of these cranes. Only about 4,900 and 5,400 individuals remain in the wild.
