Artist's Description
The Welsh Cob is a hardy, intelligent horse with much stamina and soundness. These ponies existed in Wales before 1600 BC and probably during the middle ages. They breeding and lineage has been influenced by the Arabian horse, and possibly also by the Thoroughbred and the Hackney horse. The Welsh breeds have been used as a cavalry horse, a pit pony, and as a working animal on farms.
