Description
This furry red fox which was photographed in the winter snow is the largest of the foxes and is widespread across entire Northern Hemisphere from the Arctic Circle to North Africa, North America and Eurasia. This predador is of the genus vulpes, the canine family are often called a vixen.
The red fox has been widely hunted as a pest and also for sport besides trapped for it's fur for many centuries. It has also been included in folklore and myth.
