Description
One of only a couple of shots that I got of these owls in flight. This snowy owl was photographed at Damon Point in Ocean Shores, Washington during the irruption year. This was shot in late February of 2012.
The snowy owl is a large, white owl that are found Arctic regions in North America and Eurasia. The males at maturity are mostly all white with females have more areas of black. They are diurnal meaning they hunt during the day. The yellow eyes are also a sign that these birds hunt during the day. The darker colored eyes of owls indicate they are nocturnal hunters.

Thanks Johanne. They are amazing to see in the wild especially when they fly by.

Thanks for the sale! Hope you enjoy the print as much as I did photographing them in the wild.

Wes and Dotty, Another remarkable shot of this Snowy Owl love the facial expression and the details are fantastic, the way you have caught the eyes is amazing and the black markings on the feathers is great, blending in with the white background of the feathers. In addition, gorgeous blue sky. Excellent photo, FB and google promoted and voted as seen in the group, USA Artist News promo thread
