Artist's Description
This photo was taken at a Civil War re-enactment held annually in Estacada Oregon. It is a remarkable event to witness as the folks that put these together and portray the soldiers go through a tremendous amount of work. It all feels very real as they commemorate a terrible era in the American history.

this is so evocative, you can look at it for such a long time just to really grasp the whole image. Fantastic composition and editing along with the story you have added. V

I can imagine how epic it would be to see an event like this in the same area it actually took in. I bet too there are many more people in the re-enactment than we have here in Oregon. I'll be watching for images....now you have to go, LOL.

I've been in Salem Ma for 10 years and in the beginning my excuse was I was working.. (In Lexington) of all places and I didn't see any of P-Day. Then When the work went away I always say maybe next year when it's not so cold.. Last year sure was warm... didn't go and then I was also taking care of my father for the past three years and that was a good excuse but still an excuse... I'm really going to try this year... So many opportunities pass us by because there is always next year... :-(
