Artist's Description
Springtime on Dalles Mountain brings fields of color when the balsamroot, which is from the sunflower family or Balsamorhiza along with lupine are in bloom. The hills at Columbia Hills State Park at Dalles Mountain Ranch are covered in yellow, gold, blue and purple. This area can be explored by vehicle or on foot. Mornings are always best as the rolling hills of the eastern Columbia River Gorge get very windy most afternoons. Dalles Mountain Trail is a 2.5 mile lightly traveled trail located near Lyle, WA. The entire route has a view of the River and Oregon.
