Description
This wild stallion was photographed in the South Steens of Oregon. He goes by the name of Arrow and was in a very heated pursuit of a bachelor stallion who had tried to steal some of his mares. The race started the entire herd of several bands to stampede. They shortly settled down but the two stallions raced at break neck speeds through the entire meadow and up hillsides covering several miles before they finally stopped. The ousted bachelor, Benson continued to watch from the ridge-line whinnying loudly and occasionally racing down the hill to try to steal mares again only to be rebuffed by the other stallions.
